Saturday Mornings
The hobby site that very quickly ran out of control... www.saturdaymornings.co.uk

This site began its life back in 2000, and other than being a site that documents the history of the BBC's Saturday Morning television output, Saturday Mornings has become our test bed for web site ideas and programming.

This site has been enhanced since conception using developments that make the Webmaster's life just that little bit easier! The extensive use of custom written PERL scripts (running on a LINUX based server) produces most of the content on the site's highly distinctive pages.

Chesham Preparatory School
A complete solution offering easy administration. www.chesham-prep.bucks.sch.uk

The site we developed for Chesham Preparatory School (CPS) was designed to replace a website that suffered from over complicated administration offered by an 'off the shelf' product aimed at web developers, rather than 'ordinary' people. This approach had led to a confusing site layout that inevitably contained out of date information.

The whole of the content of the CPS site is user configurable - right down to the drop down menus - through our own unique custom written site administration software. For example, the calendar feature was written to provide a time effective and intuitive solution, it is also able to produce an output file to aid in the production of a professionally printed booklet. The calendar in turn automatically produces a weekly bulletin that can be emailed to an opt-in mailing list.

We created a flexible, simple and expandable solution that provides a site that meets the school's needs.

It Started With Swap Shop
The Saturday Mornings sub-site for Unique Television. www.saturdaymornings.co.uk/itstarted

Following the great success of our Saturday Mornings site, we were approached by Unique Television Productions to assist them in the production of a special one-off nostalgia programme for BBC TWO called It Started With Swap Shop.

A meeting with the producer, executive producer and programme consultant led to a sub-site of Saturday Mornings being produced to act as a tool to gather contributions to the show from site visitors.

The sub-site was designed to look part of Saturday Mornings, but yet have a distinctive style of its own.

The site had publicity on bbc.co.uk and BBC Breakfast leading to record page impressions for Saturday Mornings.

A second version of the site replaced the original one once the programme was broadcast on BBC TWO, providing a lasting record of a very special occasion.

That's What I Call Television
Our second site for Unique Television. www.itv.com/thatstv

Unique Television were delighted with the site we put together for them for It Started With Swap Shop. The quality of the feedback from site visitors was key to the success of the show, and they approached us to produce a similar site for their next production.

That's What I Call Television is a series of three one hour programmes for itv1 looking back at television in the golden era of 1979 to 1989, covering the programmes themselves, adverts and tv themes.

Our idea was to create a 'listings magazine' look and feel and allow the site visitors to 'turn to' pages by clicking on links. Each of the areas the show would cover had its own page, and there is also a contact form to send details through to the production team at Unique Television.

Unique Television provided the pictures to use on the site and came up with a list of theme tunes to carry as media downloads - all pictures and themes had to be granted clearance for use on the site.

This site is a first for us as it forms part of the itv.com website and is built to itv specifications. It has its own sub domain thatstv.itv.com and is the first site to be hosted on our new server environment.
